Always unplug the cord from the electrical outlet and allow the toaster to cool before cleaning.

SWING-OPEN CRUMB TRAY
Unplug the toaster and allow it to cool. Turn the toaster on its side and hold over a sink or trash can. Pull the Tab on the Crumb Tray for- ward and swing the tray open (Figure C). Wipe the Crumb Tray with a slightly damp cloth or sponge. Dry the Crumb Tray com- pletely before closing and latching. It’s important to clean out the crumbs to avoid buildup. Frequency depends on how often you use your toaster. If you use it every day, more than once a day, it’s a good idea to clean out the crumbs at least once a week.
