Setting the level indicator

The level indicator (spectrometer) on your display briefly indicates the volume, tone and equalizer settings with sym- bols on your display as you make the corresponding settings.

When settings are not being made, the spectrometer indicates the original lev- el of the car radio.

You can also set the type of spectro- meter on your menu.

There are two types available.

Selecting a spectrometer type

➮Press the MENU button 8. “MENU”appears on the display.

➮Press the button : repeatedly until “EQ DISPLAY”appears on the display.

➮Press the or button :, to se- lect between displaying “SPEC- TRUM 1”and “SPECTRUM 2”or “EQ DISP OFF”.

➮Press the MENU button 8 or OK ; once you have completed the setting.

Setting aid for the equalizer

Commence settings at mid and treble section and complete them in the bass section.

Sound impression/problem	What to do
Bass reproduction too weak	Raise bass with
	frequency: 50 to 100 Hz,
	level: +4 to +6
Impure bass	Reduce lower mid-section with
Booming	frequency: 125 to 400 Hz,
Disagreeable pressure	level: approx. -4
Sound very dominant,	Reduce mid-section with
aggressive, no stereo effect	frequency: 1,000 to 2,500 Hz,
	level: -4 to -6
Muffled reproduction	Raise tweeter range with
Low transparency	frequency: approx. 12,600 Hz,
No instrumental brilliance	level: +2 up to +4
