Traffic Memo (TIM)

During the TIM standby time, a power antenna will remain extend- ed. Please observe the warning note.

Retrieving stored traffic messages

Up to four traffic messages can be record- ed. TIM 1 is always the most recent mes- sage.

If there are no messages recorded, “No TIM” will appear in the top line of the display.

To retrieve stored messages,

•press TIM briefly.

TIM1 is the most recent message and will be played back first. It is followed by TIM2, etc. The flashing red arrow indicates which message is currently being played back.

The DOT display shows the recording time of the retrieved message.

If you would like to retrieve a specific mes- sage,

•press the corresponding key.

After the last message, the audio system will switch back to the previous operating mode. Press TIM to return to the previous operat- ing mode immediately.

Warning

An automatic power antenna might be damaged in a car wash

An automatic power antenna will remain extended when TIM is active and you switch the audio system off.

If you drive through a car wash with the an- tenna extended, this could cause serious damage.

Read the next section to find out how to in- terrupt the TIM standby function for the time you are using a car wash.

Temporarily interrupting the TIM standby mode

(before driving into a car wash)

•Switch off the radio before driving into the car wash.

If the display goes out immediately, the TIM standby mode is inactive and the motor an- tenna will retract.

You can now drive into the car wash.

However, if “TIM on” briefly shows on the display panel when you switch off the audio system, the TIM standby mode is active.

•Press TIM for approx. 2 sec.

“Stby off” will appear briefly in the display.

The antenna will retract (please check) and will remain retracted until the audio system is switched back on.

Now the TIM standby mode is temporarily inactive.

You can drive into the car wash.

The standby function will be automatically re-activated when you switch the radio on again. The power antenna will extend.

Important!

In order to prevent possible damage, do not switch on the radio until you have left the car wash!
