PADDLE SWITCH WITH "LOCK-OFF"FEATURE (Model DG300LPD only)

The Paddle switch enables the operator to control the switch functions of "Lock-OFF", and "ON/OFF".

TO UNLOCK SWITCH AND TURN TOOL "ON": Push "Lock-OFF" switch release lever backward to unlock paddle switch, then squeeze paddle switch (Fig. 1).

TOOL TIPS

Always hold the tool away from your face. Accessories can be damaged during handling, and can fly apart as they come up to speed. This is not common, but it does happen.

Start the tool before applying to work and let the tool come to full speed before contacting the workpiece. Lift the tool from the work

before releasing the switch. DO NOT turn the switch “ON” and “OFF” while the tool is under load; this will greatly decrease the switch life.

Practice on scrap materials first to see how the tool performs. Keep in mind that the work is done by the speed of the tool and by the accessory in the collet. You should not lean on or push the tool during use.

Instead, lower the spinning accessory lightly to the work and allow it to touch the point at which you want grinding to begin. Con centrate on guiding the tool over the work using very little pressure from your hand. Allow the accessory to do the work.

Usually, it is best to make a series of passes with the tool rather than attempt to do all the work in one pass.

Maintenance

Service

Preventive maintenance performed by unauth- orized per so n nel may result in misplacing

of internal wires and components which could cause serious hazard. We recommend that all tool service be performed by a Bosch Factory Service Center or Autho- rized Bosch Service Station.

Your Bosch tool has been properly lubricated and is ready to use. It is recommended that tools with gears be regreased with a special gear lubricant at every brush change.

Bearings which become noisy (due to heavy load or very abrasive material cut ing)t should be replaced at once to avoid overheating or motor failure.

the power supply before cleaning or performing any main tenance. The tool may be cleaned most effectively with compressed dry air. Always wear safety gog gles when cleaning tools with compressed air.

Ventilation openings and switch levers must be kept clean and free of foreign matter. Do not at tempt to clean by inserting pointed objects through openings.
