Radio does not work
or has poor reception
• Make sure antennas are connected properly.
• Move AM antenna at least 20 inches (50 cm) from the media center.
• Adjust antenna position to improve reception.
• Make sure the AM antenna is in the upright position.
• Move antennas farther from TV or other electronic equipment.
• You may be in an area of weak signal coverage.
DVD or CD does not
play
• Check to see if the Play symbol in the displa y is lit.
• After pressing the CD•DVD button, wait a few seconds before pressing Play.
• Make sure the disc is properly inserted (label-side up).
• Eject the disc and try loading it again.
• There may be dirt or dust on the disc. Clean the disc. See “Cleaning discs” on pa ge 65.
• The disc may be defective. Try another disc.
• Make sure region codes for both the DVD and player match. See “Checking for region
code compatibility” on page 5.
FM sound is distorted • Adjust antenna position to reduce interference.
Sound is distorted • Make sure speaker cables are not damaged and the connections are secure.
• Reduce the output level from any external au dio devices connected to the music center.
• Reduce the input level setting for the connected device in the System menu.
Picture is black and
white or rolling
• Check the video cable connections.
• Check the Video Format setting and c hange to appropriate setting (NTSC or PAL).

Forgot your password • Enter the password 2673 to unlock DVD access.
“NO LABEL” appears
on the media center
display when using the
Stored CD source
• The uMusic® system uses a catalog of music information to identify and classify the CDs
you store. A recent CD release might not be in the catalog. To receive music information
updates, be sure to register your system.
• Manually enter information using the edit screen (page 57).
“BUSY PROCESSING
CDs” appears on the
media center display
and it won’t let you
store any more CDs
• When you store a CD, the tracks are first placed in a holding area, which can hold up to 10
CDs. This message appears if this holding area is full. Wait 30 minutes and try again.
