Before first use
Remove and safely discard any packaging material or promotional labels attached to your kettle. It is recommended that before first use to fill the kettle to the maximum level with cold tap water, bring to the boil by selecting the BOIL 212° button, then discard the water. Your kettle will only operate when positioned on the power base. The kettle will automatically switch off when the water has reached the selected temperature.
Operation Of Your Kettle
1.To fill the kettle, remove the kettle from the power base and open the lid by pressing the lid release button. Fill with the desired amount of water. Always fill the kettle between the minimum (500 MIN) and maximum (1800 MAX) marks on the water window. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off before the water has boiled or reached the selected temperature.
2.Ensure the lid is closed and locked firmly into place. Position the kettle securely onto the power base. Insert the power plug into a 110/120V power outlet. The STARTCANCEL and 212°F BOIL button surrounds will illuminate in white for one minute. A beep will sound for two seconds. The STARTCANCEL button surround will automatically switch off after one minute if not selected.
NOTE
This appliance is designed for boiling or heating water only. Never use it to heat or boil any other liquids or food stuffs. Never insert tea or coffee into the kettle.
3.Select the desired water temperature by pressing one of the five variable temperature buttons (175˚F, 185˚F, 195˚F, 200˚F, 212˚F). The selected button and the STARTCANCEL button surround will illuminate in white.
NOTE
If a temperature button is not selected and the STARTCANCEL button is pressed, the kettle will start heating water to the default 212ºF or the last selected temperature.
NOTE
The KEEP WARM function can be selected before, during or on completion of the water heating cycle (refer page 10).
4.Press the STARTCANCEL button and the button surround will illuminate in red and the kettle will start heating. Do not remove the kettle from the power base during operation. Ensure the kettle has switched off after the water has boiled or the selected temperature has been reached before removing the kettle from the power base.
5.When the kettle has heated the water to the selected temperature, 3 beeps will sound, the STARTCANCEL button surround illumination will switch off, and the selected temperature button surround will illuminate for 1 minute before switching off.
