IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

We at Breville design and manufacture consumer products with the safety of you, our valued customers, in mind.

Read all instructions before operating and save for future reference

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

•	This toaster should not be used near or below
	combustible material like curtains or place mats.
•	Do not allow hot surfaces of toaster to come in
	contact with countertops or tables. Do not store
	or cover this appliance until the unit has fully
	cooled down.
• Always unplug your appliance when not in use.
•	This toaster should not be used near or below

•	Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric
	burner, or in a heated oven.
•	Regularly inspect the supply cord, plug and actual
	appliance for any damage. If found damaged in any
	way, immediately cease use if the appliance and
	call Breville Customer Service at 1-866-BREVILLE.
	Your Breville appliance comes with the unique

•	Read all instructions before using.
•	Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
•	To protect against electrical shock do not immerse
	cord, plug or other non-removable parts of this
	toaster in water or other liquid.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before
	cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning or taking
	off parts.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended
	by the manufacturer may cause injuries.

•	Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can
	break off the pad and touch electrical parts,
	creating a shock hazard.
•	Your toaster needs no special care other than
	cleaning. If servicing becomes necessary, return
	appliance to Breville. Do not attempt to repair
	it yourself.
•	For household use only.
• Do not immerse appliance or cord in water or any
	other liquid.
•	This appliance is not intended for use by young

	curtains or other combustible material and it should
	be supervised at all times when in use.
• Do not use outdoors.
•	Care must be taken not to touch any hot surfaces,
	do not store or cover the appliance until the unit
	has fully cooled down.
•	Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug
	cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any
	control to OFF, then remove plug from wall outlet.

Assist Plug™, conveniently designed with a

finger hole in the power plug, for easy and safe

removal from the outlet. For safety reasons it is

recommended you plug your Breville appliance

directly into the power outlet. Do not use in

conjunction with a power strip or extension cord.

This toaster is electronically controlled : it will

not lock toast down into position until the

appliance is plugged into power outlet.

Note

•	Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
•	Oversized foods or metal utensils must not be
	inserted in toaster as they may cause a fire or risk
	of electric shock.
•	A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or
	touching flammable material, including curtains,
	draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
• Do not leave appliance unattended when in use.
•	Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is
	plugged in.
•	Be certain appliance is OFF before inserting or
	removing plug from wall outlet.
•	Failure to clean crumb tray may result in fire hazard.

NEVER OPERATE TOASTER ON ITS SIDE. NEVER ADD ANY FOOD SUBSTANCE TO THE BREAD, ENGLISH MUFFINS OR BAGELS PRIOR TO TOASTING (SUCH AS BUTTER, JELLY OR MARMALADE), BECAUSE THIS ACTION MAY ALSO LEAD TO ELECTROCUTION OR TO SERIOUS BODILY INJURY. DO NOT USE THE TOASTER WITHOUT THE SLIDE OUT CRUMB TRAY IN PLACE. CRUMB TRAY SHOULD BE CLEANED REGULARLY. DO NOT ALLOW CRUMBS TO BUILD UP IN THE CRUMB TRAY.

YOUR TOASTER HAS A SHORT CORD AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION TO PREVENT PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE RESULTING FROM PULLING, TRIPPING OR BECOMING ENTANGLED WITH THE CORD. DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO BE NEAR OR USE THIS APPLIANCE WITHOUT CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION. IF YOU MUST USE A LONGER CORDSET OR AN EXTENSION CORD WHEN USING APPLIANCE, THE CORD MUST BE ARRANGED SO IT WILL NOT DRAPE OR HANG OVER

THE EDGE OF A COUNTERTOP, TABLETOP OR SURFACE AREA WHERE IT CAN BE PULLED ON BY CHILDREN OR TRIPPED OVER. TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK, PERSONAL INJURY OR FIRE, THE ELECTRICAL RATING OF THE EXTENSION CORD YOU USE MUST BE THE SAME OR MORE THAN THE WATTAGE OF THE APPLIANCE (WATTAGE IS MARKED ON UNDERSIDE OF APPLIANCE).
