Using the Machine Setting Mode Key

Press to change the default machine settings (needle stop position, embroidery speed, opening

display, etc.). To display the different settings screens, press for “Sewing settings”, for

“General settings” or for “Embroidery settings”.

aSelect whether to use the sewing speed controller to determine the zigzag width (see page 115).

bMake adjustments to character or decorative stitch patterns (see page 162).

cAdjust the presser foot height. (Select the height of the presser foot when the presser foot is raised.)

dAdjust the presser foot pressure. (The higher the number, the greater the pressure will be. Set the pressure at “3” for normal sewing.)

eSelect whether “1-01 Straight stitch (Left)” or “1-03 Straight stitch (Middle)” is the utility stitch that is automatically selected when the machine is turned on.

fChange the height of the presser foot when sewing is stopped when the pivot setting is selected (see page 84). Adjust the presser foot to one of the three heights (3.2 mm, 5.0 mm and 7.5 mm).

gChange the height of the presser foot when the machine is set to free motion sewing mode (see page 116).

hWhen set to “ON”, the thickness of the fabric is automatically detected by an internal sensor while sewing. This enables the fabric to be fed smoothly (see pages 76 and 85).
