Step 2 Installing the Driver & Software

For Windows® 98/98SE/Me/2000 Professional Users

For Windows® 98/98SE/Me UsersMake sure that you followed the instructions in steps 1 to 12 on pages 12 to 13.

CWhen this screen appears, turn on the MFC by plugging in the power cord.

Connect the Filter core and Cable tie to USB cable.

Connect the USB interface cable to your PC, and then connect it to the MFC.

EAccept the default Printer name by selecting Yes, and then click Next.

FSelect Yes (recommended), and then click Finish. A test page will be printed so you can check the print quality.

It will take a few seconds for the installation screen to appear.

The installation of the Brother driver will automatically start. Follow the instructions on the screen.

DSelect BRUSB: USB Printer Port, and then click Next.

GIf the test page is printed correctly, click Yes. If you click No, follow the prompts on the screen to correct the problem.
