SETTING TIME AND DAY

At Power Up

Whenpower is first applied,AC or HP willappear for 5 seconds to
tellyou it is an air conditioner (AC) or a heatpump (HP) model.
After this, the time display will flash to tell you the po wer has been
off.

SettingThe Current Time:

1. Press the TIME/TEMP button.SET TIME flashes on the
display.
2. Press the UP or DOWN button until the correct timeis
displayed.
3. To quicklyadvance to the proper time, pressand hold the
UPor DOWN button.
4. When the correcttime appears on the display, press the
HOLD/ENDbutton.
NOTE: If you choose not to press the HOLD/END button, the
thermostat will automatically exit the time setting mo de after 10
seconds.

SettingThe Current Day:

1. Press the DAYbutton to advance to the correctday.
2. When the correctday appears on the display, press the
HOLD/ENDbutton.

MANUAL OPERATION

ToOpera te Manually (Without the Programmed

ComfortSchedule):

Press the HOLD/END button to m ake the HOLD icon appear.
Thenfollow the four steps below:
1. ToSelect the M ode:
Use the H/C button to move betweenthe choices. OFF,
HEAT,COOL, or EM HT will appear on the d isplay. EMHT
willonly appear on heat pumpmodels.
2. ToSelect the F an Operation:
Use the FAN button to move between continuous fan
(indicatedby the FANON icon) and auto fan operation.
3. ToRead the Room Temperature:
The largedisplay reads room temperatureuntil a button is
pressed.
4. ToAdju st the Setpoint:
In normal operation, the large display shows room
temperature. At the firstpress of the UP or DOWN button,
the large displayshows the current setpoint and the SET
TEMP icon is turned on. Further pressesof the UP or
DOWN button adjust the setpointupward or downward.
Five secondsafter the last button press,the display returns
tothe room temperature and the SET TEMP icon turnsoff.

PROGRAMMEDOPERATION

Introduction

TheLegacy Line--RNC SeriesProgrammable Thermostatprovides
four periods per day (MORNING,DAY, EVE, NIGHT) and two
schedules perweek (MoTuWeThFr and SaSu). A separate time,
heat setpoint, and cool setpoin t can be set for each period and
schedule. Beforestarting to actually programthe thermostat, fill
out Table1 with the values you wish to program. (The Energy
Starr, US Department of Energy recommen ded time and
temperature values are already prog rammed for you as a starting
pointand are shown on the left side of the table.)
The first press of the PROGRAM button brings up the
programming mode and p lacesy ou at morning of the curren t day
and period. Successivepresses move you between the four daily
periods.

While Programming:

The TIME/TEMPbutton moves between three selectionsof SET
TIME, SET TEMP & HEAT,and SET TEMP & COOL. These
three numbers are to be program med for each of the periods
MORNING,DAY,EVE, and NIGHT.
The DAY buttonmoves between the weekdays, (MoTuWeThFr)
and the weekend (SaSu) selection s. A different schedule may be set
forthe weekdays and the weekend. Youmay exit programming at
any time by pressing the HOLD/END button.

ProgrammingA Weekly ComfortSchedule:

1. Press the PROGRAM button. The word PROGRAMMING
appearson the display and the words SET TIME flash on
thedisplay. MoTuWeThFror SaSu and the morning period
iconswill appear on the display. The currentmode (HEAT
or COOL) will also show. Use the DAY button to select
weekdaysand the PROGRAM button to selectMORNING.
