OPERATION

Level the implement from side to side and front to rear using adjustments on the tractor’s 3-point lift.

WARNING

DURING IMPLEMENT ADJUSTMENT

KEEP BODY, HANDS AND FEET CLEAR OF SPOONS OR OTHER PARTS.

Weight may be added to the plugger frame to aid in penetrating hard soil. Concrete blocks, water jugs or other types of weight may be used as long as noth- ing extends through the frame and interferes with the rotation of the spoons. Penetration should be approximately one to 1-1/2”. (Figures 2 & 3)

By removing core plugs from the soil, lawns are bet- ter able to breath and hold moisture. Compacted soil and thatch are relieved, allowing air and fertilizer to reach roots.

Optional slicing knives are available to replace spoons on the mounting plates. Four knives per hub are used to cut grass runners which causes new growth and thicker lawns. Install as shown. (Figure 4)

Care should be exercised during use of the plugger to prevent hanging the spoons on immovable objects or otherwise use the implement under conditions beyond its designed capacity.

TRANSPORTATION

CAUTION

WHEN EQUIPMENT IS TRANSPORTED, USE NECESSARY DEVICES REQUIRED BY LOCAL REGULATIONS FOR ADE- QUATE WARNING TO OPERATORS OF OTHER VEHICLES.

SECTION II

MAINTENANCE

LUBRICATION - Apply NLGI Grade 2 multi-purpose grease to sleeves on shaft before each use. (Figure 2)

Tighten all other fasteners to specifications given in torque chart.

CAUTION

LOWER THE IMPLEMENT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND SECURELY SUPPORT BEFORE MAKING ANY ADJUSTMENT.

Inspect your implement periodically and replace any worn or broken parts in order to have it ready for use when needed.

When spoons become worn, replace one at a time to ensure proper location and assembly.

Store the implement out of the weather when it is not in use. This helps prevent rusting of the spoons and other components.

300 Series specifications

The Bush Hog 300 Series is a versatile and robust line of rotary cutters designed for heavy-duty land clearing, pasture maintenance, and vegetation management. Renowned for their durability and performance, the 300 Series models highlight Bush Hog's commitment to quality and innovation in agricultural equipment.

One of the standout features of the 300 Series is its heavy-gauge steel construction. This robust design ensures long-lasting durability, even under the most demanding conditions. The reinforced frame and swing-away design provide added strength and stability, minimizing the risk of damage during operation. The cutter's rugged build allows it to cut through dense brush, thick grass, and small trees with ease.

The 300 Series is equipped with high-performance gearboxes that maximize power transfer and minimize wear and tear. The gearboxes are designed for efficient operation, ensuring that operators can tackle larger jobs without compromising performance. Additionally, the cutters are available in various cutting widths, typically ranging from 5 to 7 feet, allowing users to select the model that best fits their specific needs and equipment.

Bush Hog has incorporated advanced technology into the 300 Series to enhance operability and safety. Many models feature a shear bolt protection system that safeguards the equipment from damage caused by unexpected obstacles. This feature minimizes downtime and maintenance costs, making it an ideal choice for both commercial and residential users.

Comfort and ease of use are key considerations in the design of the 300 Series. The cutters come equipped with adjustable skids that allow operators to set the cutting height according to their specific requirements. This feature not only improves cutting efficiency but also enhances the versatility of the cutter, enabling it to accommodate various terrain types.

Safety is further prioritized through features like a fully enclosed blade assembly, which helps contain debris during operation. This design minimizes the risk of projectiles that could harm bystanders or damage nearby property.

In conclusion, the Bush Hog 300 Series represents a perfect blend of durability, performance, and technology. Its heavy-gauge construction, high-performance gearboxes, innovative safety features, and ease of use make it a reliable choice for anyone in need of a powerful rotary cutter. Whether used for agricultural purposes or land maintenance, the 300 Series stands out as a dependable option for achieving effective vegetation control.
