Nutty Whole Grain Waffles with

Fresh Fruit and Honey

Ingredients

½cup all-purpose flour 1 cup whole wheat flour ¼ cup quick cooking oats

1 tablespoon yellow corn meal

2 tablespoons brown sugar 1½ teaspoon baking powder

½teaspoon salt

1 cup low fat milk

¼cup plain low fat yogurt 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 large egg, lightly beaten

Topping

1 cup sliced strawberries

1 cup blueberries

¼cup toasted pecans ½ cup honey

Method

In a large mixing bowl combine the flours, oats, corn meal, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well.

In a separate bowl combine the milk, yogurt, oil and egg together. Mix well. Add the liquid mixture to the flour mixture. Stir until thick and smooth.
