(Exposure Compensation)

The standard exposure set by the camera can be adjusted in 1/3-stop increments, in a range of –2 to +2.

zTouch # and adjust brightness by touching the desired position on the bar or dragging

the bar left or right (p. 41).

XThe correction level you specified is now displayed.

You can also configure this setting in the H menu (p. 41), accessed by touching H.

Locking Image Brightness/Exposure (AE Lock)

Before shooting, you can lock the exposure, or you can specify focus and exposure separately.

Lock the exposure.

zAim the camera at the subject to shoot with

the exposure locked. With the shutter button pressed halfway, touch the bottom of the screen (in the frame shown at left).

zTo unlock AE, release the shutter button and touch the screen again. In this case, &is no longer displayed.

Compose the shot and shoot.
