AF-Assist Lamp (Optional VFL-1 Attached)

When you attach the VFL-1 Video Flash Light to the camcorder and set it to fire a flash ( 72), the AF-assist lamp (White LED) illuminates the subject in the centre of the screen to enable the camcorder to focus in dark places.

When you press the PHOTO button halfway and turn the focus ring, the AF-assist lamp turns on responding to the surrounding brightness.

The camcorder may not be able to focus even though the AF-assist lamp is

lighting. In such case, adjust the focus manually.

The AF-assist lamp lights up brightly. Consider turning off the AF-assist lamp in public places such as in restaurants or theaters.

Turn off the AF-assist lamp in places where flash photography is prohibited.
