SERVICE AND CARE ________________________________________________

The chassis may be cleaned with a soft towel and Windex® (or a similar window cleaner). Spray it on the cleaning cloth to moisten it, not on the component. Do not use solvents or harsh chemicals as they may remove the labels from the chassis. The frequency and need of cleaning will be governed by operating environmental conditions. Avoid letting the component become dusty or wet. A ‘feather duster’ type cleaner will also work well for cleaning the component.

Replacing Vacuum Tubes

If it becomes necessary to replace the tubes, the same brand as installed new should be used. A complete new tube kit is available from Cary Audio Design. Although useful tube life varies depending on the nature and degree of use, under normal home use, the 845 or the 211 output tube and the 300B driver tube should last many years in the CAD 211. The 6SN7 input tubes should last even longer.

NOTE: Any current production or New Old Stock (NOS) types of 845, 6SN7 or 300B tubes will work fine in the CAD 211 Anniversary Edition amplifier. The voltages are fine for all available types.

WARNING

Make sure the amplifier is unplugged 30 minutes from the AC mains before replacing the tubes to avoid risk of shock and high heat from the 845 tube.

Factory Service

Careful consideration has been given to the design of this product to keep maintenance problems to a minimum. If problems arise, refer to the trouble-shooting guide at the end of this manual. If the problem is not easily solved, we suggest that you contact our Customer Service Department by phone at (919) 355- 0010, 1–5 pm Eastern Standard Time, to describe your problem in detail. Do not return the component to the factory without a Return Authorization Number (RA) from the Customer Service Department.

Cary Audio Design assumes no responsibility if the transportation company refuses to pay a damage claim due to your improper packing or lack of insurance should the unit be lost in shipment. We strongly suggest using the original packing cartons for shipping any Cary Audio Design component.

Non-Warranty Repairs

Cary Audio Design will provide repair service for its products charging on a time and expense basis. At this time, the standard non warranty service bench fee is $125 with all parts used for repair charged extra. This may change with time and is not a quote for service. Please call us at 919-355-0010 for more information about out of warranty service and repair fees.

WARNING

Make no attempt to put the CAD 211 in service outside of the cabinet or with the cabinet open! Contact with the high voltages found inside the unit can be fatal! Remove the AC power plug from the wall and allow 30 minutes for the high voltage capacitors to discharge through bleeder resistors before attempting to change the tubes or to clean the inside the amplifier.

CAD 211 AE specifications

Cary Audio Design has long been celebrated for its commitment to high-quality audio and innovative engineering. The CAD 211 AE is the latest addition to their prestigious lineup of amplifiers, offering an array of features and technologies designed to deliver exceptional sound quality and performance.

At the heart of the CAD 211 AE is its robust design, which utilizes a push-pull configuration with vacuum tubes. This configuration not only provides a rich, warm sound characteristic of tube amplifiers but also enhances linearity and minimizes distortion, making it suitable for audiophiles who seek detail and clarity in their listening experience. The amplifier is equipped with a pair of KT120 power tubes, known for their reliability and impressive output. These tubes allow the CAD 211 AE to achieve 100 watts per channel, providing ample power to drive even the most demanding speakers with ease.

The CAD 211 AE features Cary's proprietary Dual-Mono circuitry design, which ensures that each channel operates independently. This design minimizes crosstalk and maximizes stereo imaging, creating a more immersive soundstage. The circuitry is also equipped with high-quality components, including custom-made transformers and an advanced power supply, which further enhance the amplifier's overall performance.

One of the standout attributes of the CAD 211 AE is its ability to operate in both triode and ultralinear modes. The selection between these modes allows users to tailor the sound to their preferences – whether they seek the lush, warm sound of triode operation or the dynamic range and power of ultralinear. This flexibility makes the CAD 211 AE suitable for a wide variety of musical genres, from classical to rock.

Cary Audio has also prioritized user experience with the CAD 211 AE. The amplifier comes with a sleek, modern chassis that not only looks stunning but also minimizes resonance and vibration. The front panel features elegant knobs and indicators, making it intuitive for users to adjust settings and monitor performance.

In addition to its impressive audio capabilities, the CAD 211 AE emphasizes reliability and longevity. Its robust construction and attention to detail ensure that users can enjoy their music without worry of premature failure or the need for frequent maintenance.

Overall, the Cary Audio Design CAD 211 AE stands out as a remarkable amplifier that combines cutting-edge technology with timeless craftsmanship. Its rich sound, flexibility in operation, and attention to detail make it a compelling choice for any serious audio enthusiast looking to elevate their listening experience.
