easytocutwithacarpetknifeorelectrictoolsuchastheDremel™orRotozip™rotarycuttingtool.
AmetalrailthatextendsthelengthofthetilesupportstheAPabovetheceilingifthetilebecomeswet
orotherwisefails.AmechanicalsetscrewpullstheAPtighttotheceilingandlocksitintothebracket.
Additionally,aKensingtonstylelockcanbeusedforphysicalsecurityoftheAP,but,onceinstalled,itis
difficulttoremovetheAPwithoutremovingthetilesincetheAPdoesnotslideoutfromthefrontside
ofthetile.
Note:ThisbracketfitstheAP1040,1140,1260,1600,2600,3500,and3600.
InstallationonWalls
Wallscanbeaphysicalobstacletothewirelesssignalandmaycompromise360degreecoverage.Ifthe
wallisanoutsidewallorifthegoalistosendthesignalina180‐degreepatternratherthana360‐
degreepattern,adirectionalantenna(oftenreferredtoasapatchantenna)usedwiththeAP3600e
maybeabetterchoice.
Avoidwall‐mountingAPswithinternalantennassuchastheAP3600i.Theinternalantennamodelis
designedtomounttoaceilingtoprovide360‐degreecoverage.Ifwall‐mountedinanon‐horizontal
orientation,thesignalmaypenetratefloorsandceilings.Thiscausesunintendedcoverageandmay
resultinadditional,needlessroamingaccesswhen,forexample,auserwithWi‐Fiphonewalksonan
adjacentfloor.
