CHECK ICEMAKER LOCATION CONDITIONS FIRST

SProper air flow for condens- ing system.

SLocation too close to high units such as coffee urns, deep fryers, grills, etc.

SSupply water conditions

Water too warm (above 90_F).

Water artificially softened above 262 ppm sodium chlo- ride.

Normal water supply too high in total dissolved solids (above 500 PPM).

CHECK ICE MAKER

SUse gauges for checking suction and head pressures. See manual for correct reading and conditions. Check frost line and sight glass.

SCheck water level for proper adjustment and restrictions. See Manual.

SCheck evaporator assembly for worn parts, bearings, scored evaporator and auger, bad expansion valve. etc.

“It makes too much noise.”

(With this comment the ice is usually extremely hard and larger than normal.)
