A.INSTALLATION

Instruction Manual: COSTAR® 9SS, 9V CO Safety Shutoff

This device may not activate at low CO levels. The Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) has established that continuous exposure to levels of 50 ppm should not be exceeded in an 8-hour period. This detector will respond to CO concentrations of 50 ppm or greater. Individuals with medical problems may consider using detection devices with lower CO detection capabilities.

Never spray the unit with water or cleaning solutions of any kind. They may damage the detector. Ventilate the area where unit is installed when household cleaning supplies or similar contaminants are used. Do not paint the unit.

Test your detector at least once a week during periods of operation. Manufacturer recommends replacement of detector six years after date of purchase.
