TO START ENGINE

TO START ENGINE

1.Standingbehindthe mower,squeezethe bladecontrolhandle againstupperhandle.

2.Holdingthesetwohandlestogetherfirmly,grasprecoilstarter handleandpull ropeslowlyuntil resistanceis felt, then pullwitha rapid,continuous,full arm stroke.SeeFigure10.Keepinga firm griponthe starterhandle,letthe roperewindslowly.Repeatuntil enginecranks.Letthe roperewindeachtimeslowly.

Rapidretractionof startercord (kickback)will pullhandandarm towardenginefasterthan youcan let go. Brokenbones,fractures, bruisesorsprainscould result.

TO STOP ENGINE

1.Releasebladecontrolto stopthe engineandblade.

Waitfor the bladeto stopcompletelybeforeperformingany workon the mowerorto removethe grasscatcher.

USING YOUR LAWN MOWER

Besure lawnis clearof stones,sticks,wire,orotherobjectswhich coulddamagelawnmoweror engine.Suchobjectscouldbeaccidently thrownby themowerin anydirectionandcauseseriouspersonalinjury to the operatorandothers.

Theoperationof any lawnmowercan resultinforeignobjectsbeing thrownintothe eyes,whichcan damageyoureyesseverely.Always wearsafetyglasseswhileoperatingthe mower,or whileperforming anyadjustmentsor repairson it.

USING AS MULCHER

For mulchinggrass,installthe mulchingbaffleas instructedin the "Assembly"section.Foreffectivemulching,do not cutwetgrass.If the grasshas beenallowedto growin excessof fourinches,mulchingis not recommendedUsethe. grasscatcherto bagclippingsinstead.

Ifyou strikea foreignobject,stopthe engine.Removewirefromthe sparkplug,thoroughlyinspectmowerfor anydamage,and repair damagebeforerestartingandoperating.Extensivevibrationof mower duringoperationis an indicationof damage.The unit shouldbe promptlyinspectedandrepaired.
