BRAKEOPERATION

Iftractor requiresmorethanfive (5)feet to stop at highestspeedin highestgear on a level,dry concreteor pavedsurface,then brakemustbe checkedandadjusted_(See "TO CHECK BRAKE"in the Service and

Adjustmentssectionof thismanual).

TIRES

Maintainproper air pressurein all tires (Seesidesof tirefor properPSI).

Keeptiresfree of gasoline,oil, or insect controlchemicalswhichcanharmrubber.

Avoid stumps,stones,deep ruts, sharp

objectsandotherhazardsthatmaycause tire damage.

NOTE;To seal tire puncturesand prevent flattires dueto slowleaks,tire sealantmay be purchasedfrom your local partsdealer.

Tire sealantalso preventstire dry rot and corrosion°

OPERATORPRESENCESYSTEM AND REVERSEOPERATIONSYSTEM(ROS)

Be sure operator presence and reverse operationsystemsare workingproperly, If yourtractordoesnotfunctionas described, repairthe problemimmediately.

The engine should not start unlessthe

brake pedal is fully depressed,and the attachmentclutchcontrolis in the disen- gagedposition.

CHECK OPERATOR PRESENCE SYSTEM

Whentheengineis running,any attempt bythe operatorto leavethe seatwithout first settingtheparkingbrakeshouldshut off the engine.

When the engineis runningand the at- tachmentclutchisengaged,any attempt bythe operatorto leavethe seatshould shut offthe engine.

Theattachmentclutchshouldneveroper- ateunlessthe operatoris in the seat.

CHECK REVERSE OPERATION(ROS) SYSTEM

, Whentheengineisrunningwiththeignition

ROS "ON" Position Engine "ON" Position (Normal Operating)

When the engine is running with the ignition switch in the ROS "ON" position and the attachment clutch is engaged, any attempt

by the operator to shift into reverse should NOT shut off the engine.

BLADE CARE

For best results mower blades must be kept

arp. Replace bent or damaged blades.

CAUTION: Use only a replacement blade approved by the manufacturer of your tractor. Using a blade not approved by the manufacturer of your tractor is hazardous, could damage your tractor and void your warranty°

BLADE REMOVAL

1.Raise mower to highest position to alIow access to blades.

NOTE: Protect your hands with gloves and/or wrap blade with heavy cloth.

2.Remove blade bolt by turning counter- clockwise°

3.Install new blade with stamped "THIS SIDE UP" facing deck and mandrel

assembly.

IMPORTANT: To ensure proper assembly, center hole in blade must align with star on mandrel assembly.

4.Install and tighten blade bolt securely (45-55 FL Lbs. torque).
