The Service Set Identifier is the name assigned to the wireless network. The factory SSID setting is default.

Either Infrastructure or Ad-Hocwill be displayed here. (Please see the Getting Started section in this manual for an explanation of these two modes.)

The channel selection is automatically determined by the DWL-G650M. When in Ad-Hoc mode, you may select a channel manually. The default channel is 6.

The default setting is Auto. These settings are automatically determined for the maximum wireless signal rate.

Preamble Type - By default the preamble is set to Short and Long Preamble. The preamble defines the length of the CRC block (Cyclic Redundancy Check) used in communication between the access point and the wireless network adapters. CRC is a common technique for detecting data transmission errors. High traffic networks should use the shorter preamble type. The DWL-G650M will automatically determine the best Preamble length.

Continuous Access Mode is the default setting. For best results leave this setting at the default.
