Accessing the User’s Guide through Online or CD-ROM
1.Toviewthemostup-to-dateOnlineUser’sGuide,gotowww.dell.com and go to the support section of the website. If yo u
donot have internet access,continue with step2.
2.Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.A start-up document shouldlaunch automatically.
Note:If the start-updocument does not launch automatically,clickon the START button, RUN, type“D:\monitor.htm”,and
clickOK. Su bstitute the correct CD-ROM drive letter if it is not the “D:” drive .
3.Click on the appropriateicon to bring the User’sGuide in the desiredlanguage.

Novideo/LED off (no power )
SEnsurea tight fit toboth the monitor receptacleand the electrical
outlet.
STestelectrica l outlet by pluggin g in working electrica l device such
asa lamp.
SMakesure th at the power button has been depressed, and wait
forthepowerLEDtolighton.
STryanother power cordon the monitor.Use the power cord from
thesystem and powerthe monitor on with the signalcable discon-
nected. If monitor is working cor rectly, a SELF TEST FE ATURE
CHECKpattern should appear.
Novideo/LED on
SEnsure that the video conne ctor is seated properly. Tighten
screwssecu rely with fingers.
SEnsure that computer is sw itched on.
SIncreaseco ntrast control (direct access adjustm ent)
STurnthe monitoroff and unplug the signal cable.Check for bent
orbroken pins.
SWithsignal cable still disconnected, turn monitor on. If monitor is
workingcorrectly,a SELF TEST FEATURE CHECK pattern should
appear.

SNeverinsert anythingmetallic into the monitoropenings. Doing so maycreate the danger of electricshock.
SToavoidelectric shock, never touchthe inside of the monitor.Only a qualified technicianshould open the monitor’scase
SNeveruse your monitorif the power cord has beendamaged. Do not allow anythingto rest on the power cord,and keep the cord away
fromwhere people could trip over it.
SBesure to hold the plug, notthe cord, when disconnectingthe monitor from an electricsocket.
SOpeningsin themonitor cabinet are providedfor ventilation. Toprevent overheating,these openings should notbe blocked or covered.
Also,avoid usingthe monitor on a bed, sofa,rug, or other soft surface. Doingso may block the ventilationopenings in the bottom of the
cabinet.If you putthe monitor in a bookcase or someother enclosed space,be sure to provide adequateventilation.
SPutyo ur monitor in a loc ation with low humidity and a minimu m of dust. Avoid places lik e damp basements or dusty hal lways.
SDonot expose the monitorto rain or use it near water(in kitchens, nextto swimming pools,etc.). If the monitoraccidentally gets wet,un-
plugit and contactan authorized dealer immediately.Youcan clean the monitorwith a damp cloth when necessary,but be sureto unplug
themonitor first.
SPlacethe monitor on a solid surface and treat it carefully. The screen can be damaged if dropped, sharplyh itor touched with a sharp or
abrasiveimplement.
SLocateyour monitor nearan easily accessibleAC outlet.
SIfyour monitor does not operatenormally ---in particular,if there are any unusual sounds or smells coming from it ---unplug it immediately
andcontact an authorized dealer or service center.
