1.Remove all packing items applied to heater for shipment. Keep plastic cover caps (attached to inlet connector and hose/regulator assembly) for storage.

2.Remove all items from carton.

3.Check all items for shipping damage. If heater is damaged, promptly inform dealer where you bought heater.

The Fuel System: The hose/regulator assembly attaches to the propane gas supply. This provides fuel to the heater.

The Ignition System: The piezo ignitor lights the pilot fuel supply. The pilot ignites the main burner.

The Automatic Control System: This system causes the heater to shut down if the flame goes out.

You must provide propane gas and propane tank(s).

Use this heater only with a propane vapor withdrawal supply system. See Chapter 5 of the Standard for Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, ANSI/NFPA 58 and/or CAN/CGA B149.2. Your local library or fire department will have this booklet.

This heater will operate with a 20-pound propane tank. However, you can only operate it in the LOW position during mildly cool weather. At higher heat settings or during colder weather, you must use larger tanks.

The amount of propane gas ready for use from propane tanks varies. Two factors decide this amount.

1.The amount of propane gas in tank(s)

2.The temperature of tank(s)

The chart below shows the minimum number of 100-pound tanks needed to run the heater. Connect tanks together with a manifold.

Less gas is vaporized at lower temperatures. Your local propane gas dealer will help you select the proper supply system.

WARNING

Provide at least a 2.5 square foot opening of fresh, outside air while running heater. If proper fresh, outside air ventilation is not provided, carbon monoxide poisoning can occur. Provide proper fresh, outside air ventilation before running heater.

RCP80, TC80 specifications

Desa TC80 and RCP80 are innovative heating solutions designed for both residential and commercial applications. These models exemplify the latest advancements in heating technology, offering efficient and reliable performance.

The Desa TC80 is a top-of-the-line forced-air heater that delivers powerful heating capabilities. With a robust thermal output, it ensures rapid temperature rise in any space. One of its main features is its exceptional energy efficiency, made possible by its advanced heat exchanger design. The TC80 utilizes electronic ignition technology, eliminating the need for a standing pilot light, which not only enhances safety but also contributes to lower operating costs.

On the other hand, the RCP80 is a radiant ceiling panel heater that offers a unique heating experience. Unlike traditional heaters that rely on convection, the RCP80 heats objects and surfaces directly, creating a comfortable environment. This panel heater is particularly useful in spaces with high ceilings or large open areas, as it effectively spreads warmth without the common cold spots associated with conventional heating systems. Its sleek and unobtrusive design makes it an aesthetic addition to any room.

Both models come equipped with state-of-the-art control systems that allow users to adjust the temperature settings easily. The Desa TC80 features a digital thermostat for precise temperature management, while the RCP80 offers a simple dial control for user-friendly operation.

Safety is a priority in both designs. The TC80 includes a feature that automatically shuts off the heater in the event of overheating, while the RCP80 is constructed with high-quality, heat-resistant materials to prevent any risk of fire hazards.

In terms of installation, the TC80 is designed for quick and easy setup, making it accessible for homeowners and professional installers alike. The RCP80 can be mounted on ceilings or walls, providing versatile options for various room configurations.
