If your equipment has been professionally installed, skip this first time
setup section and go to page 18.
After the DIRECTV®Receiver has been connected to your compo-
nents, it is time to turn the DIRECTV Receiver on.
1. Press the PWR button on the remote control.
2. Use the 89 buttons to select your preferred language of the on
screen menus and guide and press SELECT.
3. When the Welcome screen displays, press the SELECT button on
the remote control to start the Setup Wizard. The Setup Wizard
is a first time setup that automatically steps you through the instal-
lation process.This screen will ONLY appear the very first time
your DIRECTV Receiver is turned on.
a. Enter the ZIP code.
Note: The ZIP code is critical to point your dish accurately
(refer to page 30).
b. Configure the dish (refer to page 30).
c. Point the dish (refer to page 30).
d. Test the System (refer to page 31).
4. After you have installed your DIRECTV System, you should
contact DIRECTV to order DIRECTV®programming at
1-800 DIRECTV (1-800-347-3288).
