CARE AND MAINTENANCE
NEUTRAL ADJUSTMENT
DRIVE MACHINE UNTIL HYDROSTATS HAVE WARMED UP.
WITH ENGINE RUNNING, SWING THE CONTROL LEVERS IN TO
THE OPERATING POSITION. IF MACHINE STARTS TO CREEP,
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
1. Stop the engine and swing the control levers out
to engage the parking brake. Raise rear of frame
with jack or blocks so that rear tires do not
contact the ground.
2. Start the engine and swing the control levers in
to operating position.
3. Move deck lift lever to lower cut position and
rotate seat assembly forward to access hydro
control linkage. If wheel creeps, adjust linkage.
Use procedure below. Adjustment is the same
for both sides (see diagram on page 33).
a. Swing control levers part way out so tab
on lower control enters neutral slot, but
stop before brake starts to engage.
b. If wheel creeps, loosen jam nut on lower
linkage and turn adjuster nut until neutral
is achieved. Tighten jam nut.
c. Swing control levers in to operating position.
d. If wheel creeps, adjust spring tension by
relocating locking collars until neutral is
achieved.
