MWR30 INSTALLATION
Preparation
Tools and supplies needed
You will need the following tools and supplies to complete the installation process. It is best to have all of the following before beginning the installation: Electric or cordless drill, 2 1/8" hole saw
Before You Start
•Test remote terminal, with the head unit turned off, plug in the extension cable at both ends to the head unit and the remote control. Turn on the head unit and test the function of the remote control.
•Choose and prepare location, the MWR30 is designed to be mounted in a standard 2 1/8" gauge cutout. The required mounting depth will vary, but at least 2 1/2" is needed to mount the remote control. Surface mounting is also possible using the template on page 4.
NOTE: If a standard gauge cutout is not available and you use the template provided on page 4 . Be sure to check behind the panel for wiring harnesses, steering cables, hydraulic lines, fuel lines, gas tanks, etc. also check to make sure you can get behind the dash panel, bulkhead, etc. to attach the mounting bracket. Do not mount the unit where it can be submerged.
For Standard Gauge Cutout Mounting
•Attach plastic gasket to the back of remote housing and insert into gauge hole opening.
•Fasten to the aluminum mounting bracket with the included hardware.
For Surface Mounting
•Create three holes using template on page 4.
•Attach plastic gasket to the back of remote housing and place insert into holes created.
•Fasten to the aluminum mounting bracket with the included hardware.
