Connecting headphones
The TV speakers are muted when headphones are attached.
Warning
Loud noise can damage your hearing. When using headphones, use the lowest volume setting on your headphones that still lets you hear the sound.
To connect headphones:
•Connect headphones to the (headphone) jack on the back of your TV.

Using digital audio
To connect a basic home theater system using digital audio:
1Make sure that your TV’s power cord is unplugged and the home theater system is turned off.
2Connect a digital coaxial audio cable to the digital output jack on the back of your TV and to the digital coaxial audio jack on the digital home theater system.

The connections you make depend on the video and audio jacks available on your devices. Refer to the documentation that came with your devices for connection information.
Remember to use the best connection types available for the best picture and sound. For information about connection types, see “What connection should I use?” on page 7.

Installing remote control batteries
To install the remote control batteries:
1Remove the battery cover.
2Insert two AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Make sure that you match the + and – symbols on the batteries with the + and – symbols in the battery compartment.
