Setting parental controls

Parental controls let you prevent your children from watching inappropriate material on TV. When set, parental controls read the rating of the program (with some exceptions, such as news and sports) and deny access to programs that exceed the ratings level you select. To watch programs that exceed the selected rating, you must enter a password.

Changing parental control settings

To change parental control settings:

•Button Lock—Set to On to lock the buttons on the front of the TV.•Block Unrated TV—Set to On to block TV programs that are not rated.

•USA Parental Locks—Select this sub-menu to change US parent lock settings. See “Setting parental control levels” on page 18.

•Canadian Parental Locks—Select this sub-menu to change Canadian parent lock settings. See “Setting parental control levels” on page 18.

•Change Password—Select this option to change the password. See “Setting or changing the password” on page 17.

•RRT5—Select this option to download ratings. See “Downloading rating information” on page 19.

6Press EXIT to close the menu.
