Displaying closed captions
Closed captions are usually displayed in Captions mode or Text mode. Captions mode usually
displays captions for the program’s audio language. CC1 usually displays English. CC2 usually
displays a secondary language. Text mode usually displays other types of information, such
as a program schedule.
Using closed captions in analog NTSC channels
If your TVcombo is set to recei ve analog TV channels and the color system is set to NTSC, you
can specify how you want closed captions to be displayed.
Note: You ca n p ress th e CCD button on the remote control to adjust closed captions.
To display closed captions:
1Press the MENU button. The TV on-screen display (OSD) opens.
2Press the VOL+ or VOL– button to select FUNCTION, then press the CH– button. The
FUNCTION menu opens.
3Press the CH+ or CH– button to select NTSC CAPTION.
4Press the VOL+ or VOL– button to select OFF, C1, C2, C MUTE, TEXT1, or TEXT2.
Note: C1, and C2 display closed captions across the bottom of the TV screen. This type of
closed captions is usually the audio part of the program. TEXT1 and TEXT2 display closed
captions in a large black box that covers almost all of the TV screen. This type of closed
captions is usually messages provided by the broadcaster.
5Press the MENU button one or more times to close the OSD.
