Product Description

The Ei156TLR is an Optical Smoke Alarm that runs on 230V AC mains power, and has built in tamper proof rechargeable lithium cells that act as a battery back up in the event of mains failure. These rechargeable lithium cells are designed to have a ten year life and outlast the life of the smoke alarm itself, whilst providing up to six months of smoke alarm operation without mains power.

The Ei156TLR allows the detector to be controlled remotely by either a “Test/Hush” Switch (Ei152), a “Locate” Switch (Ei159) or a Manual Call Point (MCP400). If the Ei156TLR is also interconnected to other Ei mains powered alarms then the whole system will be controllable remotely.

The Ei156TLR has other advanced features such as integral insect screens to reduce the chances of false alarms, as well as the ability to interconnect up to twelve alarms.

The Ei156TLR has built in circuitry to aid suppression of voltage transients and RF interference to further reduce the chances of false alarms under such conditions.

Operation

The green indicator will illuminate to show mains power is present

The red indicator will flash every 40 seconds to show that the detector has performed an automatic self test

The red indicator will flash rapidly to show an alarm condition for the smoke detector

The “Test/Hush” button will either silence false alarms or perform a unit self test. In “Test” mode the alarm will perform a self test and sound the horn

In “Hush” mode the alarm enters a ten minute period of reduced sensitivity to overcome false alarm conditions, and will then automatically reset itself

When interconnected to other Ei mains powered alarms, an alarm on one detector will trigger all other interconnected alarms within one second (only the triggered alarm will flash a red indicator)

The smoke detector will emit a beep and flash the red light every 40 seconds to indicate that the battery back up is depleted and needs recharging

The detector can be controlled remotely by either a “Test/Hush” Switch (Ei152), a “Locate” Switch (Ei159) or a Manual Call Point (MCP400).

Ei 156TLR specifications

Ei Electronics, a leading manufacturer of innovative fire detection systems, has developed the Ei 156TLR, a highly advanced heat and smoke alarm designed to enhance home safety. This device offers a sophisticated approach to fire detection, combining multiple technologies to provide reliable performance.

The Ei 156TLR features a dual heat and optical smoke sensing system, ensuring comprehensive coverage for early fire detection. The optical smoke sensor detects slow-burning fires, which are often common in household settings, while the heat sensor is adept at identifying rapid temperature increases typical of fast-flaming fires. This dual approach allows for high sensitivity and reduced susceptibility to false alarms, offering peace of mind to homeowners.

One of the standout features of the Ei 156TLR is its advanced wireless interconnectivity. Using the innovative RadioLINK technology, multiple alarms can be connected wirelessly throughout a home. When one alarm is triggered, all interconnected alarms sound, ensuring everyone is alerted promptly, regardless of where they are located. This feature is particularly valuable in larger homes or multi-story buildings where it may take longer for residents to be alerted to a fire.

The Ei 156TLR also incorporates a built-in rechargeable battery, providing continued operation during power outages. This reliability is crucial, as it ensures that the unit remains functional even in emergencies when electrical supply can be compromised. With an impressive operational lifespan, the Ei 156TLR is designed for longevity and minimal maintenance, requiring only periodic testing.

User-friendliness is another significant characteristic of the Ei 156TLR. The alarm is equipped with a simple test button, allowing users to easily verify the unit's functionality. Additionally, the alarm features a flashing LED indicator to show the operational status, providing visual reassurance that the device is working correctly.

In terms of design, the Ei 156TLR is compact and aesthetically pleasing, making it suitable for a variety of home environments. Its discrete profile ensures that it can blend seamlessly with home decor while remaining highly effective as a safety device.

In summary, the Ei Electronics Ei 156TLR stands out in the market of fire detection systems, combining cutting-edge technology and user-friendly features to create a reliable solution for safeguarding homes against fire hazards. Its dual-sensing capability, wireless interconnectivity, and robust design make it a top choice for enhancing home safety.
