6-3. Making Use of USB (Universal Serial Bus)

This monitor has a hub compatible with USB. Connected t o a PC compatible with USB or another USB
hub, this monitor functions as a USB hub allowing con nection to peripheral USB devices.
Require d System Environment
A PC equipped with a USB port or another USB hub connect ed to a USB compatible PC
Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 or Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.2 or later

Attention
This monitor may not work dependi ng on PC, OS or peripheral devices to be u sed. For USB compatibility of
peripheral devices, cont act their manufactu res.
Devices connected to the USB por t (upstream and downstre am) work when the monitor is in power saving
mode or when the power button of the monitor is Of f. Therefore, power consumption of the mon itor varies with
connected devices even in t he power saving mode.
When the main power switch is Of f, device connected to the USB por t will not operate.
Conne ction Procedure (Setup of USB Function)
Connect the monitor rst to a PC using t he signal cable, and run the PC.
Connect the supplied USB cable between the downstr eam USB port of a USB compatible PC (or
another USB hub) and the monitor’s upstream USB port.
The USB hub function is set up automat ically upon connection of the USB cable.
Connect the peripheral USB device to the USB por t (downstream) of the monitor.
