
4.2.4 TPE Level Reset
This sectiondescribe sthe procedureto reset theTPE (top paperend) level. This operationis required when
thePW sensor assemblyis replaced, and ifit is not performed, theprinter does not recognizethat the PW
sensorhas been replaced,thus, limiting the abilityof the newsensor to operate. This resetoperation can be
performed onlyfrom the SettingsDiskette.
Note:
•
After this operation,the reset value for the TPE LEVELis printed out automatically.
Check that the reset value is
FF
.
1. Insert the Settings Diskette intoDrive A of the PC,and turnthe power on.
2. Type GWBASIC and press ENTER.
3. Load and run theJ10A00E program. First,the MachineSelect Menu is displayed.
4. In this menu, highlight 9 pins by moving thecursor with ↑or ↓key, andselect itby pressing
ENTER.
5. After you select 9 pins, theSetting File menu is displayed.
6. In this menu, highlight the destination factory settings bymoving the cursor with↑or ↓key,
and selectthe factory settingsby pressing ENTER.
7. After you select the factorysettings, the MainMenu is displayed.
8. In this menu, highlight TPE LEVEL RESET by moving the cursor with↑or ↓key and select itby
pressingENTER . This operationprints the resetvalue of the TPELEVEL automatically. The reset
value should beFFH. Check that thereset value is FFH.
9. To exit the program,press ESC until thedisplay returns tothe MS-DOS prompt.
