4.2.3 Factory Settings
This sectiondescribe sthe procedureto reset factorysettings, which is necessary ifthe main boardor
EEPROM is replaced.You canperform this procedure onlywith the SettingsDiskette.
Notes:
After youselect factory settings in the Setting File menu, be sure torun the check program
in the Main Menu. Running the check programwrites the selected factory settings to the
EEPROM and prints severalcheck patterns.
1. Insert the Settings Diskette intoDrive A of the PCand turnPC power on.
2. Type GWBASIC, and press ENTER.
3. Load and run theJ10A00E program. The program displays the Machine Select Menu shown
below.
4. In this menu, highlight 9 pins by moving thecursor with the orkey andselect it by pressing
ENTER.
5. After you select 9 pins, theSetting File menu is shown.
6. In this menu, highlight the destination factory settings bymoving the cursor withor key and
select thedestination factory settingsby pressing ENTER.
7. After you select the factorysettings, the programdisplays theMain Menu.
8. In this menu, select one of the check programs,from 2 to 5, dependingon thepaper loaded, run
thatche ckprogram toprint out check patterns. Running thecheck program writesthe selected
factorysettin gs to EEPROM.
9. To exit the program,press ESC until thedisplay returns tothe MS-DOS prompt.
