Meat Thermometer

On models without a temperature probe, use a meat thermometer to determine doneness of meat, poultry and fish. The internal temperature, not appearance, should be used to determine doneness. A meat thermometer is not supplied with this appliance.

Insert the thermometer into the center of the thickest portion of the meat or inner thigh or breast of poultry. The tip of the thermometer should not touch fat, bone or gristle.

After reading the thermometer once, push it into the meat ½" (1.3 cm) more and read again. If the temperature drops, cook the meat or poultry longer.

Check all meat, poultry and fish in 2 or 3 different places.

To Adjust Oven Temperature Calibration:

1.Press and hold CLOCK until the oven display shows the current calibration, for example, “00,” if not yet adjusted, or about 5 seconds.

2.Press the “up” or “down” arrow pads to increase or to decrease the temperature in 5°F (3°C) amounts. The adjustment can be set between 35°F (19°C) and -35°F (-19°C).

3.Press CLOCK to enter the new temperature.

To Adjust Oven Temperature Calibration (on models with manual oven control):

1.Make sure the oven temperature control knob is in the Off position. Pull oven temperature control knob straight off and turn it over.

Oven Vent

A

A. Oven vent

The oven vent releases hot air and moisture from the oven, and should not be blocked or covered. Blocking or covering vent will cause poor air circulation, affecting cooking and cleaning results. Do not set plastics, paper or other items that could melt or burn near the oven vent.

The element can be used when the oven is in use as long as the cookware does not extend more than ¹⁄₂" (1.3 cm) over the element.

Oven Temperature Control

IMPORTANT: Do not use a thermometer to measure oven temperature because opening the oven door and element or burner cycling may give incorrect readings.

The oven provides accurate temperatures; however, it may cook faster or slower than your previous oven, so the temperature calibration can be adjusted. It can be changed in Fahrenheit or Celsius.

A minus sign means the oven will be cooler by the displayed amount. The absence of a minus sign means the oven will be warmer by the displayed amount. Use the following chart as a guide.
