How To Maintain (CONTINUED)

To Change Belt (FIG. 19) Use belt, Style U 54312 or Style EXT-U 61120.

CAUTION: Turn off the switch and unplug the electrical cord before replacing belt. Motor shaft can become hot during normal use.

To prevent injury, avoid touching the motor shaft when checking the belt.

Step 1: Lower handle to floor to change belt.

Step 2: (FIG. 18, previous page) Remove two screws to release hood. Lift hood to expose belt and brushroll.

Step 3: Lift left end of brushroll and pull out of base.

Step 4: Remove and discard belt.

Step 5: Clean debris from brushroll area.

Step 6: Place new belt around motor shaft.

Step 7: Place belt around right side of brushroll.

Step 8: Pull right side of brushroll to stretch belt. Secure right end cap into base.

Step 9: Align left end cap with square in base. Push end cap into place.

Step 10: Rotate brushroll to position belt on brushroll pulley.

Step 11: Replace the hood.

Step 12: Tighten screws.

Motor Filter:

(FIG 20) Check the motor filter with each disposable dust bag change. Clean or replace as needed.

To Clean Motor Filter:

Step 1: Remove filter from inside bag compartment, at bottom.

Step 2: Shake filter to remove excess dust. If necessary, the filter can be cleaned by laundering with warm water. Do not clean in a dishwasher. Step 3: Re-install the motor filter prior to next use. Never use the vacuum without the motor filter properly in place.
