BEFORE BREWING FOR THE FIRST TIME

-Wash and rinse the coffee percolator with hot water before using it for the first time. Also rinse the coffee container where the ground coffee is to be placed, the pipe and the lid.

-You can also fill the coffee percolator with water up to the max. line. Leave the various parts in place and boil until the light comes on. Then pour out the water.

USE

-Fill the coffee percolator with the desired amount of cold water, do not fill higher that the marking "6" (for the 0,9 l model) or "12" (for the 1,3 l model).

-When the water reached over the top of water level indicator it flow over and might come into the handle. Do not overfill when cleaning.

-You will get the best result by brewing at least 4 cups.

-Place the pipe in the percolator.

-Place the desired amount of fine or coarse- ground coffee in the coffee container. Make sure that no coffee gets into the pipe.

-Put the lid on the coffee container.

-Put the lid on the percolator.

-Plug in the percolator.

The light will come on automatically when the coffee is ready.

The coffee will keep hot as long as the percolator is plugged in.

Rinse out your percolator carefully after use. The percolator must be used together with the original stand.

NB: DO NOT WASH THE COFFEE POT IN A DISHWASHER

For the best water throughflow: Clean the small coffee container regularly with washing up brush or wash it in a dishwasher!

NB: If fine-ground coffee is used, some coffee grounds may end up in the bottom of the percolator. Let the coffee stand for a minute of so once brewed and any grounds will sink to the bottom.

WARMING UP COFFEE

If coffee is to be warmed up again the pipe and the coffee container must be removed from the coffee-pot. Then plug in the percolator and the coffee will be hot again in approx. 3-5 minutes. Never heat up more than 4 cups.

DECALCIFYING

-Mineral deposits can clog your percolator. To keep your percolator operating efficiently, you must regularly clean out mineral deposits left by the water; they can build up and clog your percolator.

-Pour 1 quart of acetic acid into the pot. Then, add 3-quart cold water to the acetic acid.

-Let the solution stay in the percolator for 10 minutes, then rinse the percolator by filling the pot with cold water.

-Pour water into water tank and turn the percolator on. Repeat this procedure 3 times.

-How often you need to descale your percolator depends on the hardness in the water.
