About the focus icon and target mark

i The target mark outlines the area that the camera is using to focus. If the area outlined by the target mark is not the subject you want to focus on, then refocus your subject, for example by changing the shooting angle.

i The target mark does not appear in the following situations. When the subject is not in focus

When using the self-timer to take a picture (see page 37)

When the focus is set to focus range

 

 

or

 

(see page 52)

When the Scene Select

or

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

function is enabled (see page 45)

 

 

 

 

 

i When the camera focuses on a wide area of the central part of the screen,

a large target mark appears.

i During still image shooting, if the shutter
