8.11 Controller Configuration
The controllerhas a number of configuration and operating options and calibra-
tion parameters thatare programmable via the front panel. These are accessed
fromthe secondary menu after the cut-out set-point function by pressing
“SET”. There are 5 sets of configurationparameters—probe parameters, oper-
ating parameters, serial interface parameters, IEEE-488 interface parameters,
and controller calibration parameters. The menus areselected using the “UP”
and “DOWN”keys and then pressing “SET”.
8.11.1 Probe Parameters
The probe parameter menu is indicatedby,

Press “SET” to enterthe menu. The probe parameters menu contains the pa-
rameters, R0and ALPHA, DELTA,and BETAwhich characterize the resis-
tance-temperaturerelationship of the platinum control probe. These parameters
may be adjusted to improvethe accuracy of the calibrator. This procedure is ex-
plained in detail in Section 10.
The probeparameters are accessed by pressing “SET” after the name of the
parameteris displayed. The value of the parameter may be changed using the
“UP” and “DOWN”buttons. After the desired value is reached press “SET” to
set the parameter to the newvalue. Pressing “EXIT” will cause the parameter to
be skipped ignoringany changes that may have been made.
8.11.1.1 R0
This probe parameterrefers to the resistance of the control probe at 0°C. The
valueof this parameter is setat the factory for best instrument accuracy.
