Turning the Camera On and Off

Shooting Mode

Slide the Gswitch in the direction shown below. The lens will extend automatically.

Slide the Gswitch to turn the camera off.

2Tip: Switching to Playback Mode

Press the abutton to start playback. Press the shutter button halfway to return to shooting mode.

3Cautions

•Be sure that the lens cap is removed before turning the camera on.

•Forcibly preventing the lens from extending could cause damage or product malfunction.

•Pictures can be affected by fingerprints and other marks on the lens. Keep the lens clean.

•The Gbutton does not completely disconnect the camera from its power supply.

Playback Mode

To turn the camera on and begin playback, press the abutton for about a second.

Steps First

Press the a button again or slide the G switch to turn the camera off.

2Tip: Switching to Shooting Mode

To exit to shooting mode, press the shutter button halfway. Press the abutton to return to playback.

2Tip: Auto Power Off

The camera will turn off automatically if no operations are performed for the length of time selected in the MAUTO POWER OFF menu (see page 104). To turn the camera on, use the Gswitch or press the a button for about a second.
