Taking Photographs During Recording

Press the shutter button to take a photograph during recording.

RThe photo is saved separately from the movie and does not appear as part of the movie.

QPhotos can not be taken while a high-speed movie is being recorded. Q The number of photos that can be taken is limited.

RZoom can be adjusted while recording is in progress. The type of zoom can be se- lected using the pMOVIE ZOOM TYPE option in the setup menu (P88).

RIf the subject is poorly lit, the AF-assist lamp may light to assist the focus operation.

To turn the AF-assist lamp off , select OFF for CAF ILLUMINATOR (P88).

RFocus, exposure and white balance are adjusted automatically throughout record- ing (the focus mode can be selected using the FMOVIE AF MODE option in the shooting menu; P71). The color and brightness of the image may vary from that displayed before recording begins.

RSounds made by the camera may be recorded.

QDo not open the battery-chamber cover during shooting or saving a movie on a memory card. Failure to observe this precaution could prevent the movie from

being played back.

QVertical or horizontal streaks may appear in movies containing very bright subjects. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.

Q The temperature of the camera may rise if it is used to record movies for an extended period or if the ambient temperature is high. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.

QThe mode selected may vary with shooting conditions.
