SWITCHING ON AND OFFIf the date is not set, a confirmation screen
appears. Use the “d” or “c” button to select one
of the options below and then press the
“MENU/OK” button.
“SET” : Switches to the date setting screen.
“NO” : Switches to Photography/Playback mode.
◆Lens Cover Warnings◆
With the LCD monitor on, you can check the
remaining charge in the battery.
➀Battery has ample charge.(No indicator
displayed.)
➁Battery charge low. Replace or recharge the
battery as it will run out shortly.
➂The battery is exhausted. The display will
shortly go blank and the camera will stop
working. Replace or recharge the battery.
To switch the camera on in“E”photography
mode:
➀Slide the lens cover open until it stops.
➁Move the Mode switch from the “OFF” position
to “E” photography.
To switch the camera on in“D”playback mode:
Move the Mode switch from the “OFF” position
to “D” playback.

If the battery charge is depleted, you may not be
able to switch the LCD monitor on.

If you do not set the date, the confirmation screen
will appear each time you switch the camera on. Set
the date immediately to avoid this.

If the “H” warning appears on the LCD
monitor, the lens cover is not fully open. Slide the
cover all the way open until it stops.
1 2 3When you switch the camera on, the viewfinder
lamp turns green. To switch the camera off, set
the Mode switch to “OFF”.
◆Auto Power Off Function◆
If the camera is left switched on for two minutes or
more, the Auto Power Off function automatically
switches the camera off. To switch the camera back
on, set the Mode switch to OFF and then set it back to
“E” to take pictures or “D” to view images. Holding
down the “MENU/OK” button as you switch the camera
on disables the Auto Power Off function.
In“E”photography mode, the “H”warning is
displayed if the lens cover is not open.
To switch from“D” playback mode to “E” photography
mode, open the lens cover.
