Setting this function to “CONT.” makes filemanagement easier as it ensures that file names arenot duplicated when images are downloaded to aPC.CONT. :Pictures are stored beginning from thehighest file number stored on the last xD-Picture Cardused.RENEW:Pictures are stored on each xD-PictureCardbeginning with a file number “0001”.

CONT. RENEWFormatted xD-Picture Card used for both A and B. You can check the file number by viewing theimage. The last 4 digits of the 7-digit number inthe top right corner of the screen are the filenumbers, while the first 3 digits show thedirectory number.

When you change the xD-Picture Card, alwaysswitch the camera off before you open the batterycover. If you open the battery cover withoutswitching the camera off, the Frame No. Memory willnot function.

File numbers run from 0001 to 9999. Once 9999 isexceeded, the directory number changes from 100 to101. The maximum number is 999–9999.
