4Checking location before installing the server
For details on installing the rack, refer to the " Rack Instal-
lation Guide" and the manual provided with the ra ck.

n Conditions

When installing this se rver avoid the following areas.
- Humid, dusty, or oily areas
- Poorly ventilated areas
- Areas close to re or other sources of heat
- Areas close to water
- Areas close to direct sunlight or near heating appliances
- Areas with a temperature of below 10°C or above 35°C
- Areas with humidity of less tha n 20% or more than 80%
- Salty areas
- Areas where corrosive gas is generat ed
- Areas where cables become trip ha zards
- Areas where strong magnetic elds a re generated, such
as near TVs and speakers
- Areas where the server is not stable an d could tip over
and hurt somebody
- In dusty areas, dust will stick to the front and bac kside of
the server for a short period of time.
Since it causes failure, changing the instal lation place is
recommended.
- Noise levels of this server are measured at 51.5dB(A) .
When the server is installed to e.g. an ofc e use the
server with careful considerati on to the environment.
- Be sure to x the rack and attach stabilizer s to the base
of the rack.

n Installing the server to the rack

1Open both the front and rear doors of
the rack.
2Attach M5 rack nuts to the rack.
Insert the rack nut’s in the rack’s 2nd hole position.
(counting up from the base of the server).
3Pull out the inner rail from the slide
rail.
Pull out the inner rail pushi ng the lock on the far
side.

4Attach the inner rails on the right and
left side of the server.

5Insert the tags of the slide rail to the
second hole from the bottom of the
server.
