Installation

Position the shredder onto the basket. Once the unit is correctly positioned on the basket, plug it into a standard AC outlet. (NOTE: The cross-cut model includes safety interlocks. If the unit is not properly positioned on the basket the interlocks will not be activated and the unit will not operate.)

Materials you can shred

Your shredder will handle most any type of office paper documents. You can safely shred documents containing staples, however, other metal items may damage the shredder.

On/Auto

Simply insert paper into the centre of the throat. Once your document has activated the trigger switch, the unit will turn on and off automatically.

Forward and Reverse

Moving the switch to either of these positions will cause the unit to run in the corresponding direction.

Clearing Jams

If a paper jam occurs, switch the unit to the reverse position until the paper is out of the throat. If a jam occurs with paper more than halfway through the cutters momentarily switch into the REVERSE position until about 1/2" to 1" of shredded paper reverses out. Tear off two or three sheets and switch into the FORWARD position to clear the paper jam. In some cases, it may be necessary to alternate between FORWARD and REVERSE positions several times to help clear excess paper from the cutting area.

Thermal Cut-off Feature

This shredder is designed for low volume shredding, and is not intended for continuous operation. This unit features a thermal cut-off device that automatically shuts off the shredder if run for an extended period of time. If this occurs, simply allow the shredder to cool for 30 minutes before resuming operation.

Shred Credit Cards (SC032 only)

You can shred Max. 5 credit cards a day. Feed the credit card either on the left side or on the right side of the shredder throat, narrow edge first (3). Do not feed wide edge first.(4).

Service

Do not attempt to service or repair the unit yourself. If your shredder is under warranty return it to the point of purchase for replacement or repair. If your shredder is no longer under the point of purchase return period and requires replacement or repair, please contact your supplier for further assistance.

Guarantee

Operation of this machine is guaranteed for two years from date of purchase, subject to normal use. Within the guarantee period, GBC will at its own discretion either repair or replace the defective machine free of charge. Defects due to misuse or use for inappropriate purposes are not covered under the guarantee. Proof of date of purchase will be required. Repairs
