4. Pull out the filter compartment and remove lid . Place the permanent fil ter in the
compartment and replace t he inner cover. then push the fi lter compartment in
place.
note: the permanent fil ter may allow some ground cof fee to flow into carafe.
5. Close the tank cover. Press down to lock. the appliance is equipped with a
safety interlock system.
note: the appliance will n ot operate if the tank cover is left open or the gr inder
box is not in place. if bre wing, the brewing will stop. Close the tank cover or rese at
the grinder box, then press on/off button to continue operating.
6. Before brewing coffee be sure to place the carafe on the warming plate.
7. Plug the cord into an electrical o utlet. “18:88” will display and flash on the LeD,
after 5 seconds “12:00” will appear until you set the t ime. set the clock according
to the “set the clock” section above.
8. make sure the indicator “grind off” is not illumina ted.
note: if the indicator “grind of f” is illuminated, i t means that the appliance is on
the “make coffee with ground coffee” mode. the appliance will omit the step of
grinding beans.
9. select Cup setting: th e 1-4 cup button is used to control bean grinding time. to
make 1-4 cups of coffee, press th e button and the 1-4 cup in dicator will
illuminate (bean grinding t ime is about 30 seconds). if yo u do not press the
button, the default set ting is 5-10 cups and grinding time i s about 40 seconds.
note: the 1-4 cup button can only be used in the “make coffee with beans” mode
(indicator below the grind off button will be of f). the 1-4 cup functi on cannot be
used with the “make coffee with ground coffee” mode.
