For Rectal Measurement
The thermometer is ready to use when the body part symbol is flashing.
Lubricate the tip of the thermometer with a
Press the Mode button until you see the rectal measurement icon. Once the icon is showing, allow the thermometer to stay idle for 8 seconds before taking a measurement.
Gently slide the tip no more than 3/4 inch (19 mm) into the rectum. DO NOT push thermometer past the

Hold the thermometer in place for
5 seconds. After approximately 5 seconds you will hear five short beeps, indicating the measurement is complete. If you want to use the thermometer in another mode after using it rectally, be sure to clean it very thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.
NOTE: If you detect any resistance when inserting the thermometer, stop immediately.
