Gear Ratios

The Model H6167 has a two available gear ratios. By placing the handle on one of the two shafts, you can change the gear ratio to a 4:1 or an 8:1 ratio.

To change the gear ratio:

1.Use Figure 4 to determine which handle position is required for the desired ratio.

—If the handle is already placed in that posi- tion, no further action is required.

—If the gear ratio you want requires the han- dle to be repositioned, continue to Step 2.

2.Remove the lock nut that secures the handle to the shaft.

3.Remove handle and handle bracket, reposi- tion them to the necessary shaft, making sure to align the flats on the shaft with the flats on the handle bracket, then replace the lock nut.

Damage to your eyes could result from using this item without proper protective eyewear.

Operations

1.Move the ratchet control lever to the free- wheel position to feed slack until the cable hook reaches the load.

2.Hook the load, then move the lever to the winching position. Crank the handle to move the load. Once the load is secured by other means, release the hook from the load.
