Cleaning the Air Purifier (cont.)

The Air Quality Sensor (select models only)

The air quality sensor is a rectangular compartment located on the side of the air purifier. It contains both the sensor/sensor lens and the sensor cleaner (see Fig. 1). The sensor cleaner is soft and specially shaped to fit inside the sensor/sensor lens area. Monthly cleaning of the sensor/sensor lens is recommended.

Sensor Lens:

1.Open the compartment door and remove the sensor cleaner. If sensor cleaner is difficult to grasp, pull on the black ribbon underneath to help release it.

2.Holding one end of the sensor clean- er, push the piece in and out of the sensor/sensor lens opening several times. This will clean the area.

3.Slide the sensor cleaner back into its storage compartment and close the air quality sensor door. Make sure the compartment door is fully closed or the air purifier may not operate properly.

Troubleshooting Guide

The following section provides the solutions to many common problems and questions. If your air purifier is not working correctly, review these solutions first. If your problem is still not solved after reviewing this guide, call our toll-free customer service number, listed on the front cover of this manual, for assistance.

The Air Purifier Will Not Turn On

Is the air purifier plugged into a powered outlet?

• Is the fan speed knob turned on?

The Air Purifier Changes Speed

Air quality sensor models are designed to sense the level of contaminants in the air and adjust the fan speed to provide the most effective air purification possi- ble. If the air quality sensor control is set to Auto, it will automatically change fan speeds to adjust for changing air quality.

Reduced Air Flow or Poor Filtering

The intake or outlet grill may be blocked. Make sure nothing is in front of or directly behind the unit.

The filter may be clogged. Refer to the “Cleaning the Air Purifier” section

and vacuum if necessary.
