CuttingGrass
•Grassgrowsatdifferentratesatdifferenttimes
oftheyear.Inthesummerheat,itisbesttocut
grassatthe2-1/2inch(64mm),3inch(76mm),
or3-1/2inch(89mm)cuttingheightsettings.Cut
onlyaboutathirdofthegrassbladeatatime.Do
notcutbelowthe2-1/2inch(64mm)settingunless
thegrassissparseoritislatefallwhengrassgrowth
beginstoslowdown.
•Whencuttinggrassover6inches(15cm)tall,rst
mowatthehighestcuttingheightsettingandwalk
slower;thenmowagainatalowersettingforthe
bestlawnappearance.Ifthegrassistoolongand
theleavesclumpontopofthelawn,themowermay
clogandcausetheenginetostall.
•Alternatethemowingdirection.Thishelpsdisperse
theclippingsoverthelawnforevenfertilization.
Ifthenishedlawnappearanceisunsatisfactory,try

•Sharpentheblade.
•Walkataslowerpacewhilemowing.
•Raisethecuttingheightonyourmower.

•Setthecuttingheightonthefrontwheelsonenotch
lowerthantherearwheels.Forexample,setthe
frontwheelsat2-1/2inches(64mm)andtherear
wheelsat3inches(76mm).
