HOBART FOODWASTE DISPOSER FEATURE

1.Two hardened stainless steel removable CUTTER BLOCKS can be indexed for new cutting edges or replaced through throat of disposer.

2.BREAKER BLADE speeds grinding, prevents objects from riding at center of flywheel.

3.Ni-Resist FLYWHEEL is precision machined and bal- anced, has slots which undercut stationary shredder ring teeth to assure that particles are cut to proper size before passing to drain line. STATIONARY SHREDDER RING is cast Ni-Hard, has a minimum of 4 machine ground primary action breaker bars and a minimum of 40 secondary action grinding teeth.

4.Heavy duty face type WATER SEAL consists of a sin- tered bronze mating ring and a spring loaded carbon ring insert in a chemical resistant rubber bellows. Mating sur- faces are protected by being recessed into the flywheel.

5.Heavy aluminum GRIND and DISCHARGE HOUSINGS reduce operating sound level.

6.Should moisture pass seal, a FLINGER, and weep hole are provided to insure immediate removal. A lip type OIL SEAL (beneath bearings) is an “added protection” water seal.

BEARINGS for upper shaft support are permanently lubri- cated. Models FD3-50 through FD3-300 have ball bearings. Model FD-500 has a matched set of tapered roller bearings.

DUAL DIRECTIONAL GRINDING…automatic reversing of disposer’s direction of rotation when installed with Control Group 2 or 3. Increases life and efficiency of grinding elements by dispersing the wear factor. Will reverse unit, freeing it up in case a jamming situation occurs.

CONES…all models FD3-50 through FD-500 fit the same large 7 inch throat opening diameter. Cones of hydraformed stainless steel, 18 inch bowl diameter is standard; 15 inch is optional. Both feature a dual directional water inlet for flushing waste into the disposer.

VINYL ISOLATING RING eliminates metal to metal contact and prevents vibration and noise transmission. Sink and trough mounting accessories are also available.

ADAPTERS are available to install Hobart Disposers on existing Cones (See Form F-7543).
